This
picture shows the Comber Road at
the site of Dundonald Station. The steps to the
down platform can be seen in the background. In the foreground are two bus
shelters, this being the alternative means of public transport for the area
since rail services ceased in 1950. At one time
you could travel to Belfast by
train in 15 minutes, today the bus will take 20 or 45 at rush hour. Such is
the path of progress!
