Although of poor quality, this picture gives a unique view from the footplate of an engine approaching Dundonald station from Comber. On the left is the Old Dundonald Road, the Stationmaster’s house being visible in the distance. Ahead the home signal is clear and the engine is about to cross the trellised-girder bridge over the Comber Road. The station platforms can be seen directly ahead. On the down platform the form of the wooden waiting shelter is just distinguishable.
